Getting ready to store with Clutter? While our team on site at your appointment will aid with packing needs, you can save time by preparing your items before we arrive. Here are some tips to make your appointment a bit more quick and to keep your items as safe as possible:
Use proper boxes, tape, and supplies when wrapping and packing fragile items
While it may seem simple, properly protecting your items while packing can be a challenge. If you plan on packing items on your own (rather than using our team), protect your plates/glassware by properly bubble wrapping and packing with paper. Don't overfill boxes, and make sure there's little room for movement. It's also best to label your boxes as "Fragile" to ensure careful handling.
Disassemble all items before we arrive
To save on appointment time, we highly recommend having items like bed frames and televisions totally disassembled before we arrive. Our team can help if needed, but bagging hardware, linking item parts, and taking things apart can be a time consuming process. Dismount televisions, take apart beds, and other items before we arrive to help us make your appointment quick and easy!
Don't overfill boxes/bins
It can be tempting to squeeze as much as possible in a box but believe it or not, it's best to pack items in a way that keep the box light and protects the items within. Please keep boxes at a reasonable weight to maintain the safety of your goods, as well as of our team who may lift them. Distribute books and other heavy items in smaller bins/boxes. Make sure the bottom of boxes are taped for extra support. Pack fragile items with towels or clothing for added protection during loading and transit.
Make sure your estimated inventory for pickup is as accurate as possible
Our Sales Team does their best to go over the items you plan on storing in your initial call. Whether you book over the phone or online through our Clutter.com account portal, check your estimated items a few days before your appointment. The more precise and accurate your list, the better we can prepare for your pickup and the closer your estimate of pricing will be. Every item takes up space and will be accounted for in our inventory on site at your appointment.
